Mural Project

Four-foot by eight-foot photographic mural reproductions are offered for sponsorship by interested businesses and entities from our regularly-updated artwork bank. These mural-sized photographic reproductions, each measuring four-feet by eight-feet on strong aluminum, are on permanent display at the business locations listed by each mural.  Each Spring, new mural artwork is available for sponsorship.

All available mural artwork is approved by the submitting artists, who retain complete copyright under federal law. To ensure fairness, the murals were offered anonymously and the names of each artist were not disclosed until after purchase.  The artist retained the right to approve the photo reproduction and the proposed display location.

In 2015, a total of eight murals were purchased through Soldotna’s  umbrella art group (ARTSpace) in connection with Soldotna Rotary, 4-H, Kenai Peninsula College, the City of Soldotna, and the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce.

Only one reproduction of each available image is offered on a  first come-first served basis.  In addition to the mounted mural, a small brass plaque with Rotary logo and the artists name and information about the art work is provided to be mounted  by the mural.   One-half of the net proceeds is paid to the artist and the other one-half used to support  the annual free Memorial Day weekend Alaska Emerging Artists competition and its cash prizes.
